Trapped: a Raven’s life.
Once upon a time there lived a raven. He was a magical creature; black as the night.
With his wings in an endless flight of freedom, He graced all of the skies.
Soon the other feathered creatures began to notice the power of the raven’s flight,
And all of its magic. Somehow they have to clip the raven’s wings before the raven himself
Realized his own power over the sky. They forced the raven to pay homage to the ruler of the skies,
They convinced the raven that his magic and grace was no match
To that of the almighty.
Once they had broken the raven’s spirit and shattered his dream of flying freely.
The raven caved to their demands. Day after day he paid the ruler with one of his feathers.
After some time the raven had lost so many feathers,
He was no longer able to grace the skies with all his magic.
Sadly the raven was placed in a cage, so not to insult the ruler.
With what was left of his sad and broken body and spirit.
The works of art displayed here reflect the story of so many of us,
Forced to pay homage, forced to earn a living, forced and bound by so many rules and obligations
we forget how to fly, we forget how to grace, we forget the magic that lives in us all
thus creating our own invisible cages.
