"The world makes me wonder. There are so many elements that I don’t understand and that I am not close to. Many worlds seem at a far distance from anything I know, except for two things; the earth and the animals that live upon it. When I was young and even now, I would sit on the ground and look around me. Look at the moss and the small crevasses between blades of grass where one insect’s home is built and where everything it needs to survive is right in front of me. I would look at the sky and see birds, hear birds crying to one another and see the delicate branches of trees reaching out for sunlight. The beauty of this world takes my breath away and I cannot express it in any way, except to paint it."
"I have always painted and drawn. Usually I did this in times of great difficulty and many of my early paintings showed that. Unfocused. For the last few years I have been finding a balance of life, the earth, and love. My paintings break down everything that is obvious, but somewhat overlooked. The newer works focus on the skeletal system of animals that are commonly used as livestock and the earth. They are a celebration of life floating in the clouds or being kicked to the side of the road. Just life, as raw as it is."
