I am a self-taught painter, working most with acrylics. As a visionary artist, I am interested in exploring the themes of spiritual, mystical, and inner awareness. The paintings that I create are inspired from yoga, dreams, and meditations. The images that continue to persist in my mind, I am compelled to paint. It is the first vision that counts. I try to stay to true to the overall color, emotion, and message. My goal is to create work from the heart and spirit, thereby exploring new states of consciousness. I also spend my time by practicing yoga and photographing the asanas. Artist that continue to inspire me include Alex Gray, Da Vinci, Zeng Hao, Robert Sturman, and William-Adolphe Bouguereau.
I was born and raised in New Jersey. Throughout my life, drawing has always been a passion of mine. After completing my B.A. in Theatre at Marymount Manhattan College, I pursued an acting career in New York. For thirteen years, I worked on a variety of projects in the theatre and film industry. In 2009, I decided to return to the Jersey shore. After completing my Masters of Arts in Teaching, I have dedicated more of my time to painting and photography. In the Torche’ galleries’ Winter Exhibition, two of my yoga photographs were displayed in collaborative pieces. In March 2014, I was featured in the magazine Mantra Yoga and Health.
Our whole business in this life is to restore to health the eye of the heart whereby God may be seen.
