"I am drawn to objects and materials that are broken, unwanted, and discarded. By incorporating antiques and objects thrown away by others into my work, it is, in a way, a collaboration between myself and a stranger."
"My ideas and visions are combined with materials that hold memories from others; or have held a purpose for somebody other than myself. Through the various media I have available, I can capture ideas and emotions, while using the human body and its organs as my main focus."
Cristina Razzano was born and raised on Long Island, New York. She attended the Fashion Institute of Technology for her Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, where she developed a strong interest in sculpture. Upon graduating, she furthered her exploration with materials, participating in a number of art exhibits, various arts/craft fairs, as well as a residency in New Mexico.
Most recently her work was part of the Brucennial, curated by the Bruce High Quality Foundation, The Vinyl Art Show at Neoteric Fine Art in Amagansett NY, M55 of Long Island City's "Framework" show, and an installation at the Greenpoint Gallery.
