My work as an artist is marked by a close attention to detail and features subject matter with a strong personal connection. Life experiences play a large role in the art I create. I draw my inspiration from the places I've been and the people I interact with. These people, places, and experiences are all opportunities for self-expression. In aesthetic terms, patterns, line, color, and repetition are the driving forces of my paintings.
I believe that art should draw the viewer in; it should make a person stop and think for a moment. The subject matter of my art reflects this belief very much so. My paintings often display subjects in a way that seems peculiar or perplexing and that strikes the curiosity of the viewer. I strive to move viewers to disconnect for a moment from the fast-paced 21st century lifestyle and to appreciate the stillness and beauty of art.
